Longtime friends reached out for help building a brand and web presence for their film production company. They were deep in post-production on their debut project — an adaptation of Kafka's Metamorphosis — and needed an identity that could grow with them beyond a single film.
They came with rough sketches and a clear direction: edgy, mysterious, punk rock but refined. The logo concept was already there in spirit. I cleaned it up, refined the geometry, and presented two directions. The choice was immediate. The final mark nods to classic symbolism — the Vesica Pisces, signal arcs, the eye — while feeling completely fresh.
For the web design we needed a clean, cinematic aesthetic that could expand as their project slate grew. We studied successful film company sites and built something that matched their ambition without boxing them in.
After the main site launched they decided to expand into offering video production services to clients. We built EntreVistaPromotes.com as a standalone landing page — a focused, conversion-driven experience they could send directly to prospects.
Two sites. One brand. Built to last.
My wife and I spent years trying to start a company together. Different ideas, different moments — nothing stuck. Then we started messing around with hot sauce.
We built the recipe ourselves — a flavor-forward medium heat sauce made with Manzano, Fresno, Serrano and Thai chili peppers, brewed with hibiscus tea. No preservatives, no thickeners, nothing artificial. Something that actually tasted like something.
Then came everything else. The name. The logo. The label. The packaging. The website. The merch. Since we're both designers we had no excuse not to do it right.
The mascot started as a character I drew on a lunch break years earlier at a previous job. When it came time to design the brand we couldn't land on anything new, so I went back through old work and there he was. He ended up on the label. People love him. They think he's a monkey. They ask if they're going to end up like him after trying the sauce. We don't correct them.
We launched in October 2024. We're now in 20+ stores across California's Central Coast and just took the brand to the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.
Fifteen years of trying. One hot sauce. Zero regrets.
